Gone Fishin'

Easter Sunday afternoon, we decided to go to the farm
and try to catch a few fish.
The Easter bunny brought Jack a new fishing pole,
thankfully John threw his own pole in the truck before we left the house.
Jack was into fishing for about 5 minutes.
There were too many things down there to steal his attention.

Trying out Jack's new pole!
The cows saw us coming!   They
were hoping for some Easter lunch leftovers.

Jack decided he was going to run them off.
He was yelling at them to "Get out of here! Leave us alone!"

I don't think they knew what to think of a 3 year old
charging toward them.  So they scattered.

Good job Jack!!

We were there about 5 minutes when John told me to
get Jack and get in the truck. A snake was swimming
in our direction. John got his gun and by the time he
got back to the pond, he had lost sight of the snake. He walked
up and down the levee until he found it again.
And that was the end of that snake.

As soon as Jack saw John step into the water,
he ran straight to it.
He is not afraid of any body of water.
That's good and bad.

John and Jack catching a fish!
This picture makes us laugh because Jack
didn't have a clue what was going on.

Jack's fishing day was over when he
spotted this pile of stones!

He figured out that two stones make twice the splash!

So happy with himself.

The perfect end to a great Easter!!

Easter Morning

I have many, many posts to catch up on. I decided to work my way backwards and start with Easter Morning. Jack only asked for two things from the Easter Bunny this year - a fishing pole and a chocolate bunny rabbit (so he could bite it's ears off). As you can see, the Easter Bunny must have thought he was a very sweet boy, because he brought a lot more than two things.

And here he is, moments after waking up, biting the ears off of his chocolate bunny. Mission Accomplished!! The Easter Bunny was fun, but we made sure that we talked to Jack and explained to him the true meaning of Easter. And if you ask, he will tell you "Jesus on the Cross"! Such a sweet, sweet heart for Jesus.

We were able to get a few, QUICK, shots before church. You will notice a common "theme" throughout this and future posts - Jack's Woody Cowboy Hat! He wears it EVERYWHERE, ALL OF THE TIME!! Yes, he wears it to church. He knows he can't wear it IN church. He wears from the house until right before we walk into church, he takes it off, holds on to it during church, and puts it back on as soon as we step outside of church. He wears it in Wal-Mart and every other store we go to. We wears it around the house all day and hangs it on the back of his chair when he comes to the table to eat. I knew it would cause a HUGE uproar if we tired to get Easter pictures without it on, so after we had taken a few, he was nice enough to let us get one or two without it. But after one or two, he wanted it back on. The hat doesn't bother me. I think him wearing it all of the time bothers others more. I think it's cute, he loves it and I have learned to pick my battles. This sweet hat is not a battle.

He's not the best picture poser. He likes to be silly. So we have to take what we can get.

Finally one without the hat. The only thing that remains is hat hair! He puts it back on as soon as he gets out of the bath tub. He puts it on his wet head. So, he always has hat hair.

After church, we went over to John's parent's house for lunch. Jack posed for more pictures. By this time he was getting into it.

I don't know what you call this pose! Easter morning was perfect and lunch was delicious! After lunch, we took Jack fishing to try out his new fishing pole. More pictures to come!!
