The longer you blog, the more fellow bloggers you get to know from around the country. After following some one's blog for a few months, you feel like you know their family personally - even though you have never met in person. You worry about their family and pray for them. One such family is Howie and Mandie Moseley. I don't remember how I came across their blog, but I check it two or three times a day (about as much as I pray for them everyday). I e-mailed Mandi the other day and asked her permission to tell their story on my blog and provide a link so my friends and family can get to know this amazing family.

After trying to have a baby for 2 1/2 years, they were told they would be unable to get pregnant. Believing nothing is impossible with God, they decided against any treatment to conceive. After a lot of thought and prayer, they decided to look into adoption through the foster care system. For months they took classes and prepared their home for the foster care inspection. It was a lot of hard and frustrating work, but they kept moving forward. On February 7, 2008, they finally received their foster care license. On February 8, 2008, they received a call from their case worker informing them their was a three day old baby boy, who was eligible for adoption, who needed a home. That's how Baby D came to the Moseley home one year ago. Mandi goes into much more detail on her blog and it is a beautiful story - I encourage everyone to read it.

They had a court date in January, and they were hoping to move forward with the adoption, but the judge moved the hearing to June. The Moseley's were heart broken, but left it in God's hands. And wouldn't you know, God blessed them by moving the hearing from June to March!!!

I hope that everyone who reads my blog will link onto Immeasurably More. I promise you will be blessed. I also hope you will pray for Howie, Mandi and Baby D. I know once you read their story, you will feel the same way I do. I haven't come across many people with as much faith in God as these two. They are a blessing and an inspiration.

Now, since baby D is "technically" a foster child, they can not use his real name. And you may see several pictures were his little face is blurred. I don't believe they are able to post any head on pictures. But all will be revealed once his adoption is official.

Little Big Man

Jack is 7 weeks old today! My mom and I snapped these photos of him this morning looking like a little man sitting up in the chair with his big boy pants on. Further evidence that he is growing up too fast!! Look at the fat checks and tummy.

Weekend Update!

This was a big weekend for our little man and it all leads me to believe he is growing up way too fast! Friday he rolled over for the first time. And of course I missed it. My mom and I both were standing right there and we both missed it. One minute he was playing on his stomach (tummy time) and the next minute he was on his back. He did it again this morning and I missed it again. I guess it's true what they say, you can't take your eyes off of them for a minute. Saturday we went visiting. We have been staying in this winter so Jack won't catch a cold or the flu, but Saturday was so nice, and we all have cabin fever, so we decided to get out. We went to visit Jack's BB and Grand Daddy Guy (John's parents) who live here in Grenada. Jack was on his very best behavior and we had a great time. We may have worn out our welcome, but Jack was enjoying himself and it was nice for the three of us to be out and about. Jack and I can't wait until Spring! Then today, my little man received his social security card in the mail. I don't know why it made me a little sad. I guess it just sounds so grown up. But he is growing up - tomorrow he will be 7 weeks old!

Hangin' Out

My dad came up this morning and spent the day with us. It was so nice. He really helped me out. I was able to get a little house work done, take a bath (without having to hurry) and take a nice nap! Thanks Poppa!! Jack had a great time too. They played for hours and hopefully wore Jack out enough that he will have a nice long sleep tonight. Here are a few pictures I took while we were getting Jack dressed and ready for the day. These pictures really show you how much Jack has grown.

New Pictures

It's been a while since I posted new pictures of Jack, it's been a while since I took pictures of Jack. Most of my time is spent feeding him, cleaning and refilling bottles to feed him again. We are still at 4 ounces every TWO hours! You can set your clock by his eating schedule. Last night, between 9:45 and 8:00 this morning, he had 6 1/2 four ounce bottles. That is 26 ounces in about 10 hours. That seems like a lot, but he wakes up starving and downs each one. At his two week appointment, Dr. Ellison said to feed him as much as he wants. I don't think he anticipated we would still be eating every two hours at nearly 6 weeks old. A lot of people I have been talking to have said they started their babies on cereal (in their bottles) at about 8 weeks. I believe we are headed in that direction. People tell me "That baby is starving, he needs some cereal!".

He is much more alert and is spending more time in his bouncy seat (without screaming). He is growing up so fast!
