FALL

We, at the Branscome household, are so happy Fall is finally in the air. For me, Fall is my favorite time of year. I love cold weather, sweaters, scarves, soup and decorating our house for the holidays. For John, Fall means hunting season! And for those of you who know my husband and his family, you know what hunting means to them. And for Jack, he gets to play outside more since it's not so hot and he is having a blast. He and John were playing outside the other day, after John got home from work, and John said Jack was running around saying, "I so happy!". That is music to our ears. One thing Jack is not liking about the change in weather is having to wear long britches in the morning when we go outside. And we are now calling them pants instead of britches, because Jack told me the other day, as I was trying to get him dressed, "No long bitches!". I knew he meant britches, but someone else might not, so we are now trying to train him to call them pants. (Later when Jack went to bed, John and I rolled at his little slip of the tongue. But we try to NEVER laugh in front of him, because if he knows you find something funny, he'll just keeping doing it over and over. We are having to be very careful.)

I don't know much about row crop farming. I married into cows and timber, not row crops. However, I have noticed that this year's cotton crop looks beautiful. The cotton along Hwy 51 between Grenada and Winona has been so nice to look at, but sadly this week they started to harvest. But not before I snapped a few pictures. While trying hard to keep Jack off the top of furniture, I have also found time a little time to knit and put out a few Fall decorations.

My knitting, placed far above Jack's reach.
He loves to get my knitting needles and beat the
floor with them. He says, "My dums, my dums."
Dums are drums in Jack's world.
In the pictures of my dining area and kitchen,
the walls look pink. But I promise I don't have a pink kitchen.
It's a really dark terra cotta called "Pizza Pie".
I'm guessing the flash on my camera made the walls
appear light.

I love using my collection of McCarty to
decorate with in the Fall.

This is the table when you come in through our carport door.
I love using old pictures to decorate with. You can see a picture
of Jack that we took last year at the pumpkin patch and
one of Jack with McKenzie and Matt last Halloween.
And one of our sweet Avery dressed up
in devil horns. I know most of you remember that I
always took a lot of pictures of our sweet dog. I miss
him so much, especially in the Fall.
I always try to put a few decorations down on Jack's
level that he can play with. I want him to be involved
in our holiday traditions and have fun memories.

Everything looks so nice! So glad you are feeling better and getting back to your old self. You have inspired me to decorate for fall. I am starting this weekend!
