Goodbye to Summer

With the end of summer, comes the start of school. Jack started attending Little Saints' Preschool, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, the day after Labor Day. The first few days were a little rough. There were a few tears, even though he wakes up every Tuesday and Thursday morning so excited about going to school. Last week, it started getting a lot better. I noticed he had to try really hard to get the tears out and it only lasted about 2 minutes. He loves his sweet teachers and runs in every morning and gives them a big hug.. When I pick him up at lunch, he is so tired. He won't tell us much about school when we ask, but John and I have noticed a few new tricks that we believe he's learning in school. I was really afraid I was going to have a hard time with him going to school, but I haven't cried once. It has been nice having a few hours on those two days to get some things done. However, I'm always glad to go pick him up.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided Jack needed a trip to the zoo to celebrate the start of school. The weather was so nice. The highlight of his trip was playing in the splash park. I posted a few pictures below.

Happy First Day of School!! I had a cute pair of black and white shorts made to go with his shirt, but that week was s o cold in the mornings. So we had to break out his long pants.

Not feeling the photo session.

Welcome to Little Saints'!!

Checking out the big backyard and cool playground equipment.

Jack is into hippo's right now.

And oh the splash park!! This is his favorite part of any outing.

He was very interested in this little girl.

He loved riding the train.

The end of a long, fun day at the zoo.

But of course we couldn't leave empty handed. He got a t-shirt and his very own hippo (who he named Harry).

And what's an update without a picture of this cutie?? Harrison is three months old and adorable. I wish we got to see him everyday.

Christmas in August!! Santa came early this year. My parents had a set of beautiful outdoor furniture made for me and my sister. They gave it to us early so we could be enjoying it. I love it. I decide to paint mine a beautiful shade of crayon red. I got the first coat on every piece this weekend. I hope to apply the second coat and a seal this week. Even with just one coat of the red, it looks great. I'll post pictures of the finished product soon.
