Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!! We hope all of you have had a great weekend. We have! It's been a busy, but fun weekend. All the activity just helps us sleep better at night. This morning we got dressed in our Easter best and made it out the door for a day of Easter celebrations, beginning at church. Jack was very impressed with his Easter outfit and his new sandals. He kept saying, "I see my toes.". I thought he looked adorable and this outfit made him look very long and lean. He's getting to be such a big boy. That's exactly what I was thinking when I told John that we were going to let him go into big church with this morning. Our church puts on an AMAZING Easter program. They reenact the last days of Christ's life here on earth and the resurrection. There is beautiful music and acting. I really thought Jack would enjoy it. I mean our church goes all out. Jack did love being in big church. And overall he did well. When he got tired of waiting for the service to start he yelled, "1,2,3 ready, set, go!!". Once the program started one of the council members told another council member to go find Jesus and Jack yelled, "I find him!" He kept everyone in our area entertained. After about 30 minutes, after all the goldfish were eaten, and after he had sent several plastic Easter eggs rolling from our pew, at the back of the church, to the front of the church, we knew it was time for him to visit his friends in the nursery. He did well for his first time in church, but we won't be making it a habit anytime soon.

A few pictures before we left the house this morning.

He loved the buttons on his suit. He played with them all morning.

He looks like such a big boy!

After church, we headed over to BB and Grand Daddy's for a wonderful lunch. We changed Jack's clothes because he always has a big time at their house and needs clothes he can explore in. Lunch was WONDERFUL!!! BB always makes delicious, big meals for our get together's. After lunch we sat around and visited until 4:00. They probably thought we would never leave, but Jack was having such a good time.

As you all know, Jack loves hats. After lunch, John took Jack up stairs to his old room and found Jack a cowboy hat. Mrs. Branscome and I wish we had our cameras ready for when Jack came in the kitchen to show us his new hat. He was so excited and proud, he couldn't say anything. He just smiled really big and shook his little legs with excitement. Love at first sight. And yes, he wore it home. So now we have a new, special hat to add to our collection.

Every year Mrs. Branscome makes us a bunny cake. John expects one every Easter and starts asking about it weeks in advanced. I don't think Mrs. Branscome could stop making them for John even if she wanted to. I love this picture. Look at Jack. The look on his face, the finger in his mouth. He is trying to figure out how to get into that cake. It came home with us (along with a tray full of leftovers) and we shared a piece for a late afternoon snack. And it did not disappoint. It is so good. So much for trying to cut back until this cake is gone.

All in all it has been a nice Easter. The weeks ahead are going to be busy, busy. My sister is having a baby boy, Harrison, in June, so we have a couple of trips to Tupelo planned for baby business. Jack starts swimming lessons in May. Lots to do. Hopefully I will have great pictures to post!
