Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday!! John's in the den watching the game, Jack and I are bumming around here and there. I pick up, he makes a mess. It's how we roll. I had a few pictures, from earlier in the week, on my camera that I needed to put on the computer. They are of Jack's latest painting project. He loves to paint and color, but painting is his favorite. He takes his work very seriously.

This afternoon we put out one or two more Valentine decorations.
My buffet looked a little drab and I saw these candle holders on another blog and thought they were easy and cute. I went to the dollar store and bought two bags of the heart candy with the love
messages printed on them. I already had two white candles and candle holders. Now, I got the old fashion candy. You know, the ones that taste AWFUL. When I pulled them out, Jack had a fit for, "Candy, candy, candy", so I gave him one. He smelled it, licked it, made an awful face and said, "Yuck momma". He never ate one, he just licked a lot of them and said, "Yuck" after each one. The maker of Sweet Tarts have come out with their own Sweet Tart Hearts with the words of love printed on them. I considered using them for this project. But I knew if I had to look at them everyday, I would eat them all. So, I went with the ones I knew tasted bad. I think the end result turned out cute. This is a project I'll make every year. Simple and cheap.

Close ups of the end result

I also had these white candles and red ribbon sitting
in a cabinet, so I decided to pull them out
and put them to good use.
These are the very special hearts Jack painted
last week. His first paint project. I had to put them
somewhere special. Front and center.
I hope everyone has a great week!!
