July

I know, I know! I haven't been a very good blogger this summer. Once you see ALL of the pictures I've posted, you'll understand why. And this does not even account for the pictures I have yet to put on the computer or the times I didn't take pictures. We have had a busy summer. Tomorrow is our only free day this week. Or should I say Jack's only free day? And since he can't drive, I have to go along too. I can't believe a two year old's calendar can be so full. He loves to go. He wakes up every morning telling me of all the places he wants to go that day. Church is always at the top of his list. (That makes us so happy!!) On our way home from church yesterday, he told us, "I had fun at my church".

As most of you already know, we have a new addition to the Mitchell family. My younger sister had a beautiful, healthy, wonderful baby boy June 21. Harrison Linden Graves! Seven pounds and 19 1/2" long. He loves to cuddle and snuggle and generally just loves being held. And that's not a problem for us. After carrying Jack around, picking up 7 pound Harrison is like picking up a feather. And he has that wonderful baby smell. Below are several pictures of our sweet new addition. And by the way, he looks just like his daddy (Sam).

Sad Face

Finally at home.

One Week Old

"Who said I have big feet?"

"I'll catch you after my bottle!"

Tummy Time

Jack loves for us to blow bubbles for him to catch. But sometimes we play out! So I bought him a bubble machine. The bubbles come out really fast and Jack loves it.

Bubble Boy

About two weeks ago, the neighbors and I noticed this adorable dog hanging around the neighborhood. She is so sweet and so good with Jack. I took a few pictures of her with my phone and went by the vet's office to see if anyone recognized her. They didn't. So it looks like we have a new dog. Especially now that we are feeding her. Jack named her Bell, after Bell in Beauty and the Beast. If you notice, she has a heart shaped spot on her side. And another just like it on the other side. So, our wonderful neighbor, Karen aka "Lady" thought we should work the word heart into her name. Karen came up with Bella Heart, Bell for short. Since Todd, Karen and Diana feed her as well, Bella Heart is a two family dog. We're looking this week at making a bed for her by our back door, because she spends most of her time there. If we go outside and can't find her, we have to get in the car, open the sun roof and roll down the windows and ride around the neighborhood while Jack plays his flute. And wouldn't you know, she hears that flute and comes running. He'll also stand in the drive way and play his flute for her and we will look up and seeing her running toward our house. It beats all I've ever seen.

Jack likes to cover his eyes and when he uncovers them, he says, "There you are Bell!" Jack LOVES this dog.

On our way to church one Sunday, I had to get a picture of this outfit my friend Jennifer McMorris made. I love it!!

Sitting at the library, waiting on the program to start. Just as it was beginning, Jack stood up and announced, "I wanna go home, now!" So we did. No need to push it. His mind was made up.

Jack loves to put on magic shows for us and the public in general. My mom found him this top hat, that looks just like a magician's magic hat. He is in love with it. Wears it everywhere and puts on a magic show everywhere we go.

At home he has a podium and, of course, a....

WHITE RABBIT!

Jack and Papa have matching fishing hats!

Jack in the Box

The next few pictures may be blurry. Jack was putting on a show for everyone as they arrived. Dancing, singing, performing magic tricks. The magician, Tommy Terrific, called Jack his opening act. They only thing Jack loves more than a large group of people, is having all eyes on him. Thankfully we go to the library every week, so the sweet ladies who work there know us and overlook us!!

Tommy Terrific. John and I think he looks like ReRun from the show "What's Happening". Remember that show? Hey, hey, hey, hey!

Jack and I have really enjoyed our library's summer program. We had a different activity to go to every week and in a month's time, John and I read to Jack for 330 minutes. He won a lot of great prizes and Wednesday we are going to the end of the summer party. Jack is so excited.

I will do my very best to blog the rest of the pictures on my camera and generally be a better blogger in the future. (But I can't promise you anything!) Also, if you are reading my blog and a sentence or a paragraph makes no sense, please take into account the fact that I have a two year old trying to climb in my lap because he wants to look at pictures of himself. I always try to go back and read over everything, and I have to do a lot of editing, however sometimes I just miss the mark completely!
