More Love

Tonight's post is just a continuing account of our efforts to make our home look festive for Valentine's Day! Jack and I were very busy today. And now we are both exhausted.

This...

plus a little of this...

equals this.
Metallic Hearts!!!!

The metallic paint is wonderful!! I loved it for this project.
It just added a little extra glitter and shine. I have two or three
big, beautiful snowflake cookie cutters and I think snowflake
dough ornaments painted in the metallic silver would
look good somewhere around the house at Christmas.

And here is sweet Jack sitting at his
new table using paints for the first time.
After he got over the fact that I had put a
trash bag on top of the table to protect it,
we were able to get down to business. He enjoyed painting,
but not nearly as much as he enjoyed playing in the water.

The artist at work.

The masterpiece!!
I think they are beautiful
and I plan to decorate with them
every year from now on.

The ones I painted, I stuck here and there.
They are cute decorations in my empty bowls.

I painted a few red. And leaned some against
a picture frame here and there.

My grandmother made these
many, many years ago. Since they are old
themselves, I thought they would look good
in my antique wooden bowl.

More red hearts.

My grandmother also crocheted
these hearts and I love getting to use them.
She made several of the decorations we use for
Valentine's Day, Christmas and Easter.
I think she would get a kick from seeing us use
her handy work. And she would probably get busy
making us more. I'll have to get out more of her things and
dedicate a post to her. She could make anything and did
beautiful work. She would have gotten such a kick out of Jack.
John and I say that, a lot, about all four of our grandmothers.
Well, that's about it. Now we can sit back and enjoy our Valentine decorations. I know Jack doesn't really know what all the hearts, and fuss, are about. But one day he will, and I want him to look back on his childhood and know that we tried to make things extra special for him. You can blame my parents for always making things extra special for us!! That's LOVE!!!!

PS - Please forgive any misspellings you may come across. Jack has the music turned up really loud in his room (John is either deaf or in a coma), I'm tired and my Blogger spell check isn't working. It's a world gone mad!! Now I'm going to turn his music off and survey the damage he has done to his room.

I LOVE the art and the artists. You both did such beautiful work. I am putting my order in now for a masterpiece for Christmas this year. MiMi would love to have a framed piece of art. Yes, A. your Granny would love Jack. She loved you and N. sooooo much and she would love knowing that you cherish and use the things she love to sit up and make. I still miss her so much. Love to all, MM
