As promised, I am updating all of our faithful readers on the progress of Jack's first pumpkin patch. John worked so hard Friday making sure everything was just right - the amount of sunshine the plants will receive, drainage issues, etc... If it had been up to me, I would have just dropped them in the ground. (That may be why our watermelon patch didn't take off this year.) John pulled out the garden hoe and made sure the area was clean and fertile. He even created a trench so water would not collect around the plants and he slopped the area. He worked on this for half of the day! He did a great job! Jack has a GREAT dad!!!
