Just a quick update on Jack's pumpkin patch. It looks GREAT!!! We see new growth everyday. John is working so hard to make sure Jack has pumpkins for Halloween. You will notice, in the picture below, a strange brown substance on the ground around the plants. That is cinnamon. We saw a couple of ants near the pumpkin plants Sunday. I remembered my sister telling me to sprinkle cinnamon around my herb plants to keep the ants away, because ants do not like cinnamon. So Sunday, I ran inside and grabbed a bottle of cinnamon and poured around each plant and so far - NO MORE ANTS!! I hope my next update will include a sighting of a baby pumpkin.

hoping i can have some pumpkins when they come in! tried to talk sam into making a pumpkin patch behind our fence this year...no luck!!!
