Jack's New Toy

Jack and I had a doctor's appointment in Jackson yesterday with Dr. Breeland. It was just a routine appointment and everything went well. I got to hear Jack's heartbeat. It took Dr. Breeland a few minutes to find it, Jack was in one of his playful moods. He was very busy during the appointment, moving all about. I wish she had done another sonogram, so I could have watched him play. I think I will have another sonogram in October. John and I can't wait! But in the mean time, hearing his sweet, strong heartbeat in more than enough. Dr. Breeland guessed that Jack weighs about 1/2 of a pound. That sounded low to me, my mom and John, but she's the doctor and didn't seem a bit worried.

My dad went with mom and me this time. He had a doctor's appointment right across the street from my doctor, at the same time. We got out before he did and went across the highway to do a little shopping. And of course, Jack got a new toy. A wonderful toy - one I'm sure we will all enjoy! A BOUNCY SEAT!! It was a gift from my mom, Jack's Mimi.

I love it! It is really nice and the best thing about this one, it converts for several different uses. It vibrates, rocks and playes music. It has four little kick stands that you can unfold and it stabilizes the seat, so I can feed him in it. Then when he is a toddler, it converts into a rocking chair. It holds up to 40 pounds, so I think we will get a lot of use out of it - for a long time.

It did not come assembled. John and I looked at the directions last night and agreed that this may be a job for Uncle Sam! We may try to tackle it this weekend, but we both have visions of putting Jack in it for the first time and it falling apart - with Jack laying on top of the heap looking dazed and confused!

Everyone tells me the bouncy seat is a life saver and we have to have one. So now we can mark that off of our list. By the way, it folds up for easy traveling to Mimi and Papa's house! Thanks Mimi!!!
