Pool Play

CAUTION: POOL PICTURES OVERLOAD!

So you can't say you weren't warned. When my Dad saw, on last night's post, that Jack had to "swim" in his infant tub, he showed up bright and early this morning with his air compressor ready to get Jack's little pool blown up. The only thing he asked was that I post A LOT of pictures of him him enjoying his pool. So Papa, here you go!!

The only way Jack would get in and out

of his pool is by crawling in, by himself.

We went by PuddleDucks and
bought this cute pool play set with
some money from Papa.
My Dad is always giving Jack $20.00 for a
$2.00 Happy Meal. And I don't even let him have
McDonald's very often. Don't you remember
when we were growing up we would get like $1.00.
Not these days! So we spent some of his money on new
pool toys. It's a cute net with a crab, starfish and turtle.
The starfish is his favorite because it reminds him of the
stars on Dora the Explorer.

He loves his pool.

Cheese!
And yes, he is in his diaper.
I had swim diapers on my Wal-Mart list
today and I left Wal-Mart without them.
I put his swim trunks in the washing machine
yesterday, thought I turned it on -
I did not. So a diaper it was!!

Whenever he is being video taped, he likes to look
at the screen. He stops playing and walks
over to see the footage. I guess he wants to make
sure we 're getting his best side.

He loves his sea animals!!

He was in and out of this pool
100 times - at least!
In and out, in and out.
We were right there at him to make
sure he didn't fall.

And he discovered the fun of kicking his legs
and the big splash it makes.

Taking a break.

He loves the phone! And these days anything
can be a phone and for some reason he
associates the phone with my dad.
Every time the phone rings, he runs to it
saying, "Papa, Papa". And sometimes he just
stands looking at the phone crying,
"Paaapaa, Paapaa". Then we call and talk to Papa.
I guess he decided to call Papa on his starfish.
If you look closely you can tell he's saying Papa.
He talked to Papa a long time on that starfish.

Well, the diaper got really heavy with pool water.
So what did we do? We went naked. Jack LOVES
being naked and being naked outside was the BEST!!

I fear a nudist colony is in his future.
Look how comfortable he is with
his nakedness!

Then it was inside for a bath and head washing.
Followed by dinner.

Tonight we had...
chicken and spinach baked
in a puff pastry. And...

Squash Casserole.
This recipe is in this month's
Southern Living and it is wonderful!!
I made one change - I'm not a big fan of bread crumbs.
They don't hold much flavor for me, so I substitute Ritz crackers
when I can and that's what I did here.
And for dessert...
Jack's favorite -
Cherry Cobbler with
an Oatmeal topping.
Thanks Papa for helping us out this morning! As you can see Jack had a blast. I hope this is enough pictures.
