Getting Ready For Fall

This is my buffet in my dining area.
I didn't do much here. After Halloween, I will
replace the cat & pumpkin in the middle
with a large ceramic turkey.

This is our fireplace in our den. In the middle
are three ceramic square jack-o-lanterns
I painted several years ago. They hold a tea candle.

My mom made these fall pillows for me last week.

She found this beautiful outdoor fabric at Jan Bennett's

shop in Winona. I love the fabric!

This is my front porch at night after I added the (electric) jack-o-lanterns.

I added a couple of friends to the arrangement

by my carport door.

This is my trusty iron scarecrow

that I put in the yard every year. I love him!

I will change his bow after Halloween and keep him out until after Thanksgiving.

I added another electric jack-o-lantern

by the carport door and hung our Halloween sign and scarecrow.

This is my sideboard right inside my carport door.

I love these ceramic pumpkins.

I've had them for years and can't remember

where I got them.

I am done decorating! Now I plan to just sit back and enjoy. Most of the things I put out and transition easily into Thanksgiving. I've had these decorations for so long that I have putting them out down to a science. I can usually remember where everything went the year before and I always take pictures.

Decorating this year made me very anxious for Jack. This time next year he will be nearly 10 months old. And although he won't understand what's going on, I think he will sense our excitement when we are decorating. And I know he will enjoy seeing everything lit up!
